Operate WiFi sockets by voice control

This is how the voice control setup works

brennenstuhl®Connect can be conveniently operated via voice assistant, the system is compatible with your Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. Our manufacturer's tip: First connect the smart sockets to the app before you set up the voice control. It's best to assign suitable, unique names to the sockets directly when you teach them. This ensures higher recognition by the voice assistants. For example, choose the name according to the device that is to be controlled or the room in which the WiFi socket is connected.

Voice control with Amazon Echo and Alexa

The WiFi sockets from brennenstuhl®Connect are compatible with Amazon Alexa. Before connecting the smart plug with Alexa, it must first be activated separately. It is best to give the socket a unique name so that Alexa can correctly hear and execute every voice command to switch the wireless socket on and off via the Amazon Echo. These are the next steps to enable Alexa's voice recognition to communicate with the brennenstuhl®Connect WiFi socket:

Step 1: First set up the WiFi socket in the brennenstuhl®Connect app and connect it to the WLAN network or router in the 2.4 GHz WLAN standard.

Step 2: Select the "Skills" category and search for brennenstuhl®Connect in the Amazon Alexa app. Then install the brennenstuhl®Connect skill.

Step 3: After successful activation, start a new device search via the app. The newly connected Wi-Fi socket will be displayed in the list after the update.

Step 4: With the voice command "Alexa, turn X on/off." you can now turn on and off the device that is connected to the smart socket. In this case, "X" stands for the name that was given to the WiFi socket in advance.

Connect WiFi sockets with Google Home

brennenstuhl®Connect WiFi power outlets also support Google Home. First, before the connection with the voice assistant is established, the smart socket must be set up in the brennenstuhl®Connect app. Once this is done, the device can be connected to Google Home as follows:

Step 1: Open Google Home app on smartphone. First select "Add", then "Set up device" and wait for the search.

Step 2: Select the socket and follow the instructions to connect the systems.

Step 3: Then give the socket a meaningful name. If you use several sockets, individual names such as "bedside lamp" are suitable.

Step 4: With the command "Hey Google ..." or "OK Google, turn X on/off", you control the power outlet or the device connected to it by voice command.
