What is the brennenstuhl® Multi Battery 18V System Pro?

The brennenstuhl® Multi Battery 18V System Pro allows compatible 18V batteries from different power tool systems to be used with selected brennenstuhl® work lights. If you already use an 18V battery system, you can also use your existing batteries for professional work lighting. Depending on the battery system, the battery connects to the work light either directly or via a suitable Multi Battery Pro adapter. The Pro generation features a redesigned interface for a more secure mechanical connection. Multi Battery Pro also has its own battery management system to help protect the battery in use.

How does the Multi Battery 18V System Pro work?

The basic principle of the Multi Battery system is simple: Use an existing, compatible 18V power tool battery with a suitable brennenstuhl® work light. The Multi Battery 18V System Pro supports compatible 18V batteries of different Ah capacities from ten established power tool systems.

AMPShare batteries can be connected directly to a Multi Battery Pro work light. Other compatible battery systems require the corresponding Multi Battery Pro adapter. How does the new Multi Battery Pro interface work?

The interface connects the work light, battery and, where necessary, the appropriate Multi Battery Pro adapter. In the Multi Battery 18V System Pro, the adapters slide into the interface from the side and are mechanically guided and secured on both sides.

Compared with the previous design, where the adapter was inserted from above, this creates a more secure mechanical connection between the adapter, battery and work light. This firm connection helps keep the battery and adapter securely attached during mobile and professional work.

Use Bosch Professional and AMPShare 18V batteries directly with Multi Battery Pro

A key feature of the new interface is that it accepts compatible Bosch Professional and AMPShare 18V batteries directly. No additional Multi Battery Pro adapter is required. This reduces the number of connecting components while maintaining a secure mechanical connection.

Users of Bosch Professional 18V batteries in particular benefit from a direct connection between the battery and work light. Compatible 18V batteries from other supported power tool systems still require the respective Multi Battery Pro adapters.

Battery management system to protect the battery

In addition to the mechanical connection, protecting the power tool battery is an important part of the Multi Battery 18V System Pro. brennenstuhl® uses its own battery management system (BMS), which has been tested and approved by Bosch.

The BMS helps protect the battery against deep discharge, among other things. Avoiding excessive discharge is particularly important for lithium-ion batteries. The Multi Battery 18V System Pro therefore combines flexibility across different 18V battery systems with additional protection for the power tool battery.

What are the advantages of the Multi Battery 18V System Pro?

The system is particularly suitable for professionals who already use an 18V battery system and want to power their work lighting with those batteries. The main benefits at a glance:

  • Reuse existing 18V batteries: Compatible power tool batteries can also power selected brennenstuhl® work lights.
  • Ten power tool systems supported: Compatible 18V batteries from various established manufacturers can be used with the Multi Battery system.
  • Insert AMPShare batteries directly: Compatible AMPShare batteries do not need an additional Multi Battery Pro adapter.
  • More secure mechanical interface: Side-inserted adapters are guided and secured on both sides.
  • Battery protection: The integrated battery management system helps prevent deep discharge.

Multi Battery Pro vs AMPShare – what is the difference?

Both Multi Battery Pro and AMPShare enable flexible use of 18V batteries, but they take different approaches. AMPShare is a cross-brand 18V battery system in which compatible tools from different manufacturers share the same battery interface.

By contrast, the Multi Battery 18V System Pro allows selected brennenstuhl® work lights to be powered by compatible batteries from various 18V power tool systems. AMPShare batteries connect directly; other supported battery systems use the appropriate Multi Battery Pro adapter. Multi Battery Pro therefore extends the options beyond a single battery system.

Which work lights can be used with Multi Battery Pro?

The Multi Battery 18V System Pro is used with a variety of brennenstuhl® work lights, from compact hand lamps to powerful cordless LED floodlights. The new generation adds further work lighting solutions, while existing Multi Battery products are being updated with the new interface.
