The power switch of a single device plugged into the master socket will automatically shut on and off all other devices plugged into the slave sockets. For example, you can use a computer as a master device, and a printer, monitor, modem and so on as slave devices incorporated into the automatic control. Of course you can also use such combinations as TV, radio, receiver, and so on.
With these models the switching threshold can be set up automatically via the push of a button. If you dont require the master-slave function at the moment, you can activate the permanent mode for the slave sockets if desired. The power strip will then ignore the master-slave function. The stored switching threshold, or rather the permanent mode, will also remain if the master-slave power strip is temporarily turned off by the main switch.
These devices feature an automatic switching threshold setting, which is activated by pressing a button:
1. Turn on the automatic power strip at the main switch.
2. Insert the master device into the master socket.
3. Switch the master device into the standby mode or turn it off completely, if it is not already.
4. Press and hold the button Learn on the automatic power strip for approx. 3 sec., until the Slave on lamp begins to blink.
5. The lamp Slave on blinks only for a short time. During this time the standby power consumption of the master device will automatically ascertain and store the switching threshold.
6. If the lamp Slave on stops blinking, the setup procedure is finished. The automatic switch function can now be used.
1. Place your master device in the master socket and switch it on.
2. Slowly and carefully turn the control of the switching threshold until you find a position in which the slave socket will be turned on and off. Note this as control position 1. (for users with higher power consumption leave the slave socket on).
3. Turn the master device off again, but let it remain plugged in.
4. Slowly and carefully turn the control of the switch until you find a position in which the slave socket will be truned on and off. Note this as control position 2. (for users with or without lower standby-power consumption the slave sockets stay turned on at all times).
5. Adjust the control in the centre between control position 1 and control position 2. (if you cannot find control position one or two adjust the control in the centre between the controller stops).
To activate permanent mode:
Proceed as with the automatic switching threshold adjustment.
While the slave on light is blinking (step 5), press the button learn again for 3 sec. The automatic switching threshold adjustment will be finished and the permanent mode for the slave socket will be activated.
To deactivate permanent mode:
Perform the automatic switching threshold adjustment again.
